Activity 3 Information Technology in Support of Student-Centered Learning

1. Who argued for a highly active and individualized pedagogical methods which place the student
at the center of the teaching-learning process?
Answer: John Dewey

2. Describe a traditional classroom. (You may embed pictures or videos.)
The traditional classroom may observed that are usually arranged with neat columns and rows of student chairs, while the teacher stands in front of the classroom or sits behind his desk.This situation is necessitated by the need to maintain classroom discipline, also to allow the teacher to control classroom activities through lecture presentation and teacher-led discussions.

3. Describe an SCL classroom. (You may embed pictures and videos.)
  • In SCL classroom their student have now become active not passive learners, who can interact with other learners, demonstrating independence and self-awareness in the learning process.The students in this learning gain much learning because they are the one who will act as a teacher and the teacher is simply sitting and listening to the students presentation.
